He became richer than he could have ever imagined

David’s story

Hi, my name is David and I would like to tell you my story. A story about how I became really rich. When I was a little boy I started to feel such inner emptiness and hopelessness. I was looking for the meaning of life and the reason why I’m here. I sought it through religion, philosophy and spiritual paths. But that didn’t satisfy me at all. Then, at the age of 19, I came across personal development literature. That quite satisfied me. I liked to have certain goals, vision, enthusiasm and faith. I liked the idea that if I persevered and surrounded myself by people who wanted success and wealth, I would get it. Unfortunately, I did not have all the prerequisites. I was addicted to alcohol, marijuana and smoked cigarettes.

 I was not financially literate, so I gradually got into debt. It was the amount of about 600,000 Czech Crowns and I also had executions.

Through all this I was in a relationship which was immature and without a future. After some time I started to prosper and started getting bigger contracts, I made money and started paying off debts. But the frustration didn’t go away. And that surprised me a lot. 

At that moment I realized that I had one book that I had never read. It was about Christianity and the story of Jesus. The book is called “More Than a Carpenter.” So I started studying it. The more I learned about Jesus, the more fascinated I became. His personality, the way He thought, what He was doing. I kept reading even though I didn’t understand some things. I also read the New Testament. All those stories about him and the first church. The more I knew Jesus, the more He transformed me. There were some changes inside me. I began to feel more calm and free. I thought, “What is it?” I decided to write a blog article about it to find out what was going on and sort out my thoughts. So I started writing it. It was called “The Gospel of David.” And at that moment God visited me and filled the room with His love. I knew He was there with me even though I couldn’t see him. I was so happy that I started crying. I was really happy that God exists and loves me. 

I felt real and full. I felt really free and myself. I had never felt something like this. This meeting changed my whole life.

I didn’t know any church and the opportunities it offered. I accepted the invitation of friends to come to church and was baptized in a few weeks. God has changed my life since then. It’s been seven years. And a lot of great things have happened during my time as a believer. Today I could sum it up in one sentence: “All I have is Jesus.” It may sound weird, but Jesus really changed my life. He changed my relationships and helped me get out of financial trouble. He gave me my wife and a great job. I discovered talents that I didn’t know I had. Today I can say that all I have is thanks to Jesus.

If I could say something to people who are looking for meaning in their lives, it is this: If you are a person who has a lot of questions, doubts and difficulties or if you’re honestly searching, I would like to recommend you to get closer to Jesus. He really likes you. And He is waiting to become a part of your life.
